Zoe Saldana as Uhura Star Trek Movie

The young Uhura wil be played by Zoe Saldana. She was not familiar with the original series of Star Trek at first, but took the job when she was requested by Abrams. Zoe Saldana is an American actress born June 19, 1978. She was born in New Jersey and is Puerto Rican and Dominican. She has received numerous nominations, including Best Actress in 2006 for Guess Who from both the Black Reel Awards and the Black Movie Awards. She was also nominated for the same role as the 2006 Oustanding Actress in a Motion Picture by the NAACP Image Award. She was also nominated for Best Kiss by MTV Movie Awards for Drumline.

She played Eva Rodriguez in Center Stage, Cheryl in Snipes, Maggie in Get Over It, Laila in Drumline, Kit in Crossroads, Anamaria in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Annie in Temptation, Andrea in Haven, Officer Torres in The Terminal, Rachel Buff in Dirty Deeds, Theresa Jones in Guess Who, Charlie in Premium, Donna in Ways of the Flesh, Kat in After Sex, Claudine in Blackout, Rosa Boxer in Constellation, and Angie Jones in The Skeptic. She will also be playing Neytiri Nazachema in Avatar in 2009.

Uhura, also known as Lieutenant Uhura, was a main character in the original Star Trek television series. She was one of the major black characters on a TV show who played a significant (and not domestic) role. She was played by Nichelle Nichols. Uhura is the communications officer on the USS Enterprise and the USS Enterprise-A. Uhura, the character, comes from the United States of Africa. She speaks both English and Swahilli, and she has been identified as Bantu. For some reason unbeknownst to most, she did not play in the final episodes of the original Star Trek by Lieutenant Lisa.

Simon Pegg as Montgomery “Scotty” Scott Star Trek

All Star Trek fans are very familiar with the work of the original Scotty. Simon Pegg is going to have some big shoes to fill! Simon Pegg has a Scottish wife, who has helped him perfect his accent as Scotty. Another person who auditioned as Scotty, Paul McGillon, was actually given the position of the son of the original Scotty, James Doohan.

Simon Pegg Beckingham was born February 14, 1970. He is an English actor, comedian, producer, director, writer, and stand-up comedian. He has become very well known in the United States and in the British arenas for his roles in Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. He was born in Gloucester England and studied English Lit and Performance Studies in school.

He has acted in many different television series, such as Six Pairs of Pants, Asylum, Faith in the Future, I’m Alan Partridge, We Know Where You Live, Is It Bill Bailey?, Big Train, Spaced, Hippies, Jam, Brass Eye Special, Look Around You, Black Books, I Am Not An Animla, Derren Brown, Doctor Who, Top Gear, Mind Control with Derren Brown, and Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. He has also been in several movies, Guest House Paradiso, The Parole Officer, Bande of Brothers (as First Sergeant William Evans),  Shaun of the Dead (as Shaun), The League of Gentlemen’s Apocalypse, Land of the Dead, Mission Impossible III, Big Nothing, Free Jimmy, Grindhouse, The Good Night, Hot Fuzz (Nicholas Angel), Run, Fat Boy, Run, and Diary of the Dead.

Montgomery “Scotty” Scott is a character from the original Star Wars. He was one of the main characters and was played by James Montgomery Doohan. He is the Enterprise’’s engineer. The character himself was born in Scotland and as an engineer, he is a miracle worker on the ship, able to fix things when no one else can. A phrase frequently repeated in the show was “Beam me up, Scotty,” instrucitng Scotty to use the transporter.
